EXPERTISE
Applies a wide variety of groundwater flow and transport models
that match the complexity of the model to the complexity of the
problem; create cost-effective groundwater modeling using simple
analytical models to address key site questions; develops and maintains
large databases of groundwater data for corporate clients.
REPRESENTATIVE
EXPERIENCE
Software Development:
Developed the BIOSCREEN and BIOCHLOR natural attenuation models
for the U.S. Air Force. GSI has applied these simple, easy-to-use
models at over 30 natural attenuation sites around the country.
BIOSCREEN, designed for fuel sites, is the EPA's most frequently
distributed model, with 6,000+ downloads from their modeling web
page. BIOCHLOR, designed for chlorinated solvent sites, is the EPA's
most frequently distributed model since it was released in Jan.
2000.
Groundwater
Flow Modeling: Applied large, multi-layer MODFLOW groundwater
flow model to simulate the regional groundwater supply system in
the Houston area for City of Houston' s water supply plan.
Modeling Barrier
System: Developed multi-level MODFLOW groundwater flow model
to model hydraulics of groundwater extraction system at large Superfund
site with slurry wall enclosure.
Fate &
Transport: Applied MODFLOW and MT3D to simulate potential migration
of constituents from former pharmaceutical facility, Belgium.
Litigation:
Developed and applied detailed groundwater transport models of contaminated
site to evaluate source of contamination for groundwater litigation
cases.
