EXPERTISE
GSI provides technical support on a wide range of groundwater remediation
and risk assessment issues; and assists legal counsel by identifying
and responding to potential environmental concerns.

EXPERIENCE
Oil & Gas:
Served as expert for evaluation of soil and groundwater conditions
and applicable remediation requirements at: i) former commercial
soil treatment facility, ii) oil and gas properties, and
iii) natural gas processing facilities; Designated expert
regarding soil and groundwater conditions at 16 oil and gas properties
and applicable remediation requirements and costs; Selected by current
owner of oil field to participate on technical mediation committee
convened by Oklahoma Corporation Commission to address historical
brine contamination problems. Successfully proposed and won acceptance
for natural attenuation/no pumping remediation alternative; Provided
expert testimony in deposition regarding impacts of oil field activities
on soil and shallow groundwater.
Remediation
Costs: Selected from group of five nationwide consulting firms
to give expert witness testimony regarding a disputed $180 million
in groundwater and soil remediation costs. Developed comprehensive
visualization system of plume and proposed remediation systems.
Groundwater
Solvents: Provided expert witness testimony for a $50 million
dispute regarding the cause of a 1500-ft long groundwater plume.
Case involved chlorinated solvents, Dense Non-Aqueous Phase Liquids
(DNAPLs), and the timing of a release from a major chemical facility.
Groundwater
Pesticides: Selected by major international petrochemical company
to give expert witness testimony for a $200 million case regarding
the source of pesticides to groundwater in California's Central
Valley.
