GSI designs and operates NAPL recovery systems; integrates NAPL management into RBCA and natural attenuation approaches to prevent unneeded NAPL recovery; understands and communicates how NAPL affects corrective action process at RCRA, CERCLA, UST, and Voluntary Corrective Action sites.

REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE

NAPL Recovery: Designed, installed, and operated DNAPL and LNAPL recovery systems at a variety of sites using downhole pumps, bioslurping systems, combined fluids, and other recovery technologies.

NAPL Policies: Worked with TNRCC to help develop NAPL remediation policies in current Texas Risk Reduction Program (TRRP).

U.S. EPA Publications: Served as lead author of two key US EPA NAPL publications: the Potential for DNAPL Occurrence Fact Sheet and LNAPL Issue Paper.

U.S. EPA Seminars: Selected by US EPA to present DNAPL remediation technologies as part of US EPA's 10-city DNAPL seminar series.

Short Courses: Conceived, developed, and presented Gulf Coast Hazardous Research Center (HSRC) short course on NAPL management.

Books: Selected to write NAPL/source chapters for two groundwater textbooks.

Software: Now developing Source Lifetime Estimation software dealing with NAPL dissolution for US Air Force.
