EXPERTISE

GSI helps develop / interpret / apply complex environmental regulations, such as Risk-Based Corrective Action; developed Regulatory / Policy Databases and assists industry in developing compliance strategies for new, complex, or high-impact regulatory programs.

REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE

Regulatory Guidance: GSI has provided detailed technical assistance to environmental regulatory agencies for development of risk-based regulatory rules, policies, or guidance at the following locations: Texas, Iowa, New Jersey, Utah, Michigan, Florida, New York, Illinois, Delaware, Canadian Atlantic Provinces, and Wisconsin.

Policy Development:

Selected by ASTM/EPA to develop and maintain RBCA Policy Database, a web-based database of state RBCA policy and guidance.

Participated in TNRCC-sponsored work group developing procedures for implementation of tiered ecological risk assessments, groundwater classification, surface water PCL, statistics, historical site data, and other policy issues under new TRRP rules.

Software: Developed Texas Risk Reduction Program (TRRP) software for conducting risk assessments under TRRP regulations.

Training: Selected in 2000 by Texas Natural Resources Conservation Commission (now TCEQ) to develop and present a statewide TRRP training course in five Texas cities. Also conducted RBCA training for state regulatory staff in Texas, Iowa, Florida, Utah, Louisiana, South Dakota, New York, Oklahoma, Michigan, Wisconsin, New Mexico, Canadian Atlantic Provinces, and Puerto Rico.

Risk Reduction: Contracted by the U.S. EPA to provide technical support for development of the revised TRRP.
