EXPERTISE
GSI develops and applies natural attenuation tools; applies multiple
lines of evidence to develop the best case for demonstrating natural
attenuation; and provides state-of-the-art natural attenuation expertise
for industrial and military clients.
REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE
Air Force Initiative: Conducted $2.5 million U.S. Air Force
RNA research and development program consisting of field analysis
at a number of Air Force sites througout the U.S.
BIOSCREEN: Developed the BIOSCREEN natural attenuation model
for U.S. Air Force. BIOSCREEN,
designed for fuel sites, is the U.S. EPA's most frequently distributed
model in history from their modeling web page, with 6,000+ downloads.
BIOCHLOR: Developed the BIOCHLOR natural attenuation model
for U.S. Air Force. BIOCHLOR, designed for chlorinated solvent sites,
is the EPA's most frequently distributed model since it was released
in January 2000.
ASTM Committee: Served on ASTM RNA Committee and developed
nationwide training curriculum for ASTM training program. Developed
the RNA Tool Kit, a software package for analyzing and interpreting
RNA data using the ASTM methodology.
Book: Co-authored Natural
Attenuation of Fuels and Chlorinated Solvents, published
by John Wiley & Sons in 1999.
Studies: Applied RNA at petroleum release sites, gas stations,
gas plants, chlorinated solvent sites, and chemical plants sites,
including one site where an RNA demonstration for a 1500 ft long
plume replaced a planned $2.5 million pump-and-treat system.
