EXPERTISE
Closes waste management units per RCRA requirements; obtains risk-based
closure for commercial, industrial, and residential properties,
thereby facilitating property transaction and development, including
"brownfields" and Voluntary Cleanup Program projects; develops cost-effective
risk-based closure strategies consistent with proposed future land
use.
REPRESENTATIVE
EXPERIENCE
Surface Impoundments:
Developed engineering specifications for closure of hazardous waste
surface impoundments at Texas Gulf Coast chemical manufacturing
facility. Managed closure activities and prepared closure reports.
Texas VCP:
Demonstrated immobility of residual metals in soil and obtained
Certificate of Completion for central Texas machine works facility
through the TNRCC Voluntary Cleanup Program.
Lead Stabilization:
Performed pilot test to evaluate methodologies for stabilizing lead
in soils at tempered glass manufacturing facility, Houston, Texas.
Stabilized lead in soils to meet Land Disposal Restriction requirements;
excavated stabilized soils. Obtained Certificate of Completion for
property through the TNRCC Voluntary Cleanup Program.
Crude Oil:
Performed risk assessment at former site of earthen crude oil storage
pits. Demonstrated that site met risk-based criteria for industrial
land use, and obtained "no-further-action" letter from Railroad
Commission of Texas.
Pesticides:
Performed site investigation and soil remediation program at site
previously occupied by a commercial pest control franchise to satisfy
residential land use criteria. Property subsequently developed for
residential use.
Natural Attenuation:
Conducted site investigation and performed groundwater monitoring
to demonstrate effectiveness of natural attenuation at Gulf Coast
former industrial waste disposal facility. Obtained Risk Reduction
Standard No. 3 closure from TNRCC.
