Entry Level Environmental Engineer/Scientist


GSI Environmental Inc. has an immediate opening for an Entry Level Environmental Engineer/Scientist in our Houston, TX office.
Duties include:
• Preparing technical documents and compliance plans, including quality assurance project plans, monitoring/sampling plans, health and safety plans, and regulatory reports.
• Performs assignments requiring application of standard techniques procedures and criteria
• Performing field inspections and sampling of environmental media (soil, groundwater, sediment, surface water, etc.)
• Compiling and evaluating technical data and coordinating with laboratories.
• Managing environmental data and databases
• Communicating with clients and other staff

Qualifications/Requirements:
• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related field
• Master’s degree a plus
• 0-3 years of experience
• Experience with data management, review, and statistical analysis
• Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, work independently and as part of a team
• 40-hour Osha HAZWWOPER certification a plus
• Valid driver’s license and clear driving record
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel

Senior-level Environmental Engineer/Scientist/Hydrogeologist
GSI has two immediate openings in its Houston, Texas office for senior-level environmental engineers/scientists. Required qualifications include advanced degrees in geosciences or engineering with at least 10 years of work experience, with heavy emphasis on environmental consulting for private sector clients. Graphic Design Specialist
GSI’s Houston office is seeking a full-time Graphic Design Specialist. Candidate will be responsible for working with our technical personnel to create, modify, and update graphics for use in technical reports, PowerPoint presentations, and marketing brochures. The qualified candidate must have advanced skills in PowerPoint, Photoshop, ArcView, InDesign, and Illustrator. In addition, the candidate should have working knowledge or experience with AutoCAD or similar engineering/architectural software and ArcGIS.

Environmental Technician
GSI has an immediate opening for an Environmental Technician in its Houston, TX office. This individual will work under the direction of environmental scientists, geologists, and engineers on various environmental projects. Job tasks will include, but are not limited to:
• Collecting environmental samples and other testing data (e.g., portable instrument measurements)
• Record-keeping associated with all field activities, laboratory chain-of-custodies, and billing forms
• Mobilizing and demobilizing equipment for environmental field programs
• Maintaining and repairing field equipment to ensure safety and reliability
• Coordinating field vehicle maintenance and repair
• Researching and purchasing field equipment and supplies, including coordination of delivery
• Maintaining organization and cleanliness of equipment storage warehouse, including safety compliance
• Various office responsibilities, such as data entry and data quality review. Tasks may require moderate to heavy manual labor, including the ability to 1) lift/move heavy equipment; 2) perform physical work outdoors in varying weather conditions and in remote locations; and 3) bend, stoop repetitively, carry up to 25 pounds for a distance of 100 yards, and lift up to 50 pounds. Regular travel to project sites throughout the greater Houston Area will be required. Periodic out-of-town travel for up to two to three weeks at a time may be required.

Required qualifications include:
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid Texas DriverR17;s License with safe driving record
• Eligible for the Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) program
• Commitment to safe work ethic with excellent health and safety record
• Basic mechanical abilities; • Customer-focused work ethic with great attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team; and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Position is dependent upon passing a physical exam demonstrating the individuals ability to wear a respirator while working and the individuals willingness to remove facial hair if required to be fitted with a respirator.

Associates Degree or Certification in Environmental Technology (or equivalent work experience) and competence in Microsoft Word and Excel highly preferred. Completion of OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training and TWIC program preferred. Experience with environmental sampling and remedial systems a plus.

Entry Level Staff Geologist/Hydrogeologist - Newport Beach, California


GSI Environmental Inc., has an immediate opening for an Entry Level Geologist in our Newport Beach, CA office.
Key Responsibilities:
• Primary responsibility will be performing field work related to assessment of subsurface geologic and hydrogeologic conditions. Field work will include collection of soil, groundwater, soil vapor, indoor air, surface water, and/or sediment samples. Field work also will include general oversight of field activities related to drilling, well installation and sampling, trenching/excavation, and aquifer testing.
• Preparing technical documents and reports; compliance plans, including quality assurance project plans, monitoring/sampling plan, and investigation reports.
• Performing assignments requiring application of standard techniques procedures and criteria.
